Apple Slices with Almond Butter & Seeds

Apple Slices with Almond Butter & Seeds

Ingredients

  • 2 crisp apples (Braeburn or Pink Lady)
  • 4 tbsp almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 2 tbsp mixed seeds (hemp, chia, pumpkin, sunflower)
  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips (optional)
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Squeeze of lemon juice (to prevent browning)

Method

  1. Core and slice apples into rounds or wedges. Toss with a squeeze of lemon juice.
  2. Arrange on a plate and spoon a little almond butter onto each slice.
  3. Scatter over mixed seeds and chocolate chips if using.
  4. Dust lightly with cinnamon and serve.

Tips

This is a great post-workout snack — the carbs from the apple replenish glycogen while the protein and fat from almond butter support muscle repair.
