Smoky Cajun Spice Blend

A bold, smoky spice rub that's brilliant on chicken, fish or roasted veg. Make a big batch and keep it on the counter.

Smoky Cajun Spice Blend

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (or less for mild)
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt

Method

  1. Mix all spices together in a bowl.
  2. Transfer to a sealed jar or spice container.
  3. Use as a dry rub, coating meat or fish before grilling or baking.
  4. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.

Tips

Rub onto chicken thighs with a little olive oil and bake at 200°C for 35 minutes for incredible Cajun chicken. Also brilliant on salmon or sprinkled over homemade sweet potato fries.
