Smoky Paprika Rub

A BBQ-ready dry rub that creates a gorgeous crust on ribs, chicken and tofu.

Smoky Paprika Rub

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cayenne

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. The brown sugar will clump slightly — break it up with your fingers.
  3. Store in an airtight container.
  4. Apply generously to meat or vegetables, pressing into the surface.
  5. Allow to rest 30 minutes before cooking for maximum flavour penetration.
